At Gospel Rooted Women, everything we offer—biblical counseling, Bible studies, teaching, and resources—is grounded in the truth of God’s Word and centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ.

The following statement summarizes the core beliefs that shape our ministry. It is based on the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, completely true, and trustworthy Word of God. Scripture is our highest authority for what we believe, how we live, and how we understand the struggles of the human heart. The whole Bible ultimately points us to Jesus Christ and God’s redemptive work through Him.

God

We believe there is one living and true God, the Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer, and sovereign Lord of all things. God is infinitely holy, loving, wise, just, merciful, all-powerful, and all-knowing.

The one God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, yet there is one God.

God the Father

We believe God the Father lovingly rules over creation and history according to His wise and gracious purposes. He is a perfect Father to all who are adopted into His family through faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and perfectly obeyed the Father.

Jesus willingly died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, bearing the judgment we deserved. He rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and now reigns as Lord and serves as the only Mediator between God and humanity. He will return personally and visibly in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully divine. He inspired Scripture, glorifies Christ, convicts people of sin, brings about new spiritual life, and lives within every believer.

The Holy Spirit comforts, teaches, sanctifies, seals, equips, and empowers believers to grow in Christlikeness and faithfully serve God.

Humanity

We believe every human being is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity, value, and worth. God created humanity as male and female, and both men and women are equally valuable before Him.

Humanity was originally created good, but sin entered the world through human rebellion. Because of the fall, every person is affected by sin and is unable to restore fellowship with God apart from His grace.

Sin and Suffering

We believe sin affects every part of human life, including our desires, thoughts, emotions, relationships, bodies, and communities. Some suffering results from our own choices, some from the sins of others, and some from living in a fallen and broken world.

Not every experience of suffering is the direct result of a person’s individual sin. Jesus meets sufferers with compassion, truth, mercy, and hope. Through Scripture and the presence of the Holy Spirit, God comforts His people and transforms them in the midst of suffering.

Salvation

We believe salvation is offered freely to all who trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Salvation is found in Christ alone and is received by grace alone through faith alone—not through good works, religious effort, or personal merit.

Salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification.

• Regeneration is the new birth brought about by the Holy Spirit.

• Justification is God’s gracious declaration that the believing sinner is righteous in Christ.

• Sanctification is the lifelong work of God through which believers grow in holiness and become more like Jesus.

• Glorification is the final and complete restoration of believers when Christ returns.

The Gospel and Christian Growth

We believe the gospel is not only the message through which we enter the Christian life; it is the truth that continually shapes and transforms us.

Believers grow as they behold Christ, depend on the Holy Spirit, renew their minds through Scripture, put off sinful patterns, put on Christlike ways of living, and participate in the life of the local church.

The goal of Christian growth is not merely improved circumstances, emotional relief, or better behavior. The ultimate goal is deeper fellowship with God and increasing conformity to the character of Jesus Christ.

The Church

We believe Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the church. The universal church includes all those who have been redeemed through faith in Christ.

A local church is a congregation of believers who gather for worship, biblical teaching, prayer, fellowship, discipleship, and the advancement of the gospel.

We believe every Christian is called to belong to and participate in the life of a faithful local church. Gospel Rooted Women is a discipleship ministry and is not intended to replace the ministry, authority, fellowship, or care of the local church.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience that publicly portrays the believer’s union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

We believe the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act through which the church remembers the sacrifice of Christ, proclaims His death, and looks forward to His return.

Neither baptism nor the Lord’s Supper earns salvation. Both are acts of obedience practiced by those who have already trusted in Christ.

Marriage, Family, and Sexuality

We believe God created marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Marriage reflects the covenant relationship between Christ and His church.

We believe husbands and wives are equal in dignity and worth while carrying complementary responsibilities within marriage. Husbands are called to sacrificially love, protect, provide for, and lead their families in humility. Wives are called to respect and support their husbands’ servant leadership.

Children are gifts from God, and parents are called to nurture, teach, discipline, and disciple them with truth, grace, and love.

We believe God’s design for sexuality is good and that sexual intimacy is reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. At the same time, every person should be treated with dignity, compassion, patience, and love.

The Sanctity of Human Life

We believe every human life is sacred because every person is created in the image of God. Human life should be protected and valued from conception to natural death.

Christians are called to care for the vulnerable, defend the oppressed, support those in need, and treat every person with dignity and compassion.

Evangelism and Mission

We believe every Christian and every church is called to make disciples of all nations. Followers of Jesus should proclaim the gospel with their words and display its transforming power through lives of holiness, compassion, justice, mercy, and love.

The Return of Christ and Eternal Life

We believe Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return in glory. The dead will be raised, and every person will stand before Him in judgment.

Those who are united to Christ by faith will dwell with God forever in the new creation. Those who remain outside of Christ will face everlasting judgment.

God will ultimately make all things new, remove sin and death, and dwell forever with His redeemed people.

Our Ministry Commitment

Because we believe Scripture is sufficient, authoritative, and relevant to every area of life, Gospel Rooted Women seeks to offer care that is thoroughly biblical, Christ-centered, compassionate, and rooted in the hope of the gospel.

We desire to help women know God more deeply, understand their experiences through the truth of Scripture, respond faithfully to suffering and sin, and grow in love for Christ and others.

Our deepest desire is to help women walk with God, become more like Jesus, and live with enduring hope in every season.
