Gospel Rooted Women Online Bible Study

Romans: The Glory of the Gospel

February 4 — April 15, 2026

Our next online ladies’ Bible study will walk through Romans: The Glory of the Gospel by Lydia Brownback, an 11-week journey (including an introduction) through one of the most profound and hope-filled books in Scripture.

Together, we’ll trace the sweeping story of the gospel—God’s righteousness revealed, humanity’s deep need, Christ’s finished work, and the transforming power of grace that leads to new life. Week by week, Romans invites us to behold the glory of God, rest in justification by faith alone, and learn what it means to live as people who are both deeply loved and deeply changed.

This study is not about mastering theology for its own sake, but about letting the truth of the gospel shape our hearts, renew our minds, and anchor our lives in God’s mercy. As we move through Paul’s words, we’ll be reminded again and again that salvation is from God, through God, and for the glory of God alone.

Whether you’re new to the Bible or have read it your whole life, we hope this study will take you to the heart of our Savior and experience how the gospel changes everything.

February 4 – April 15, 2026

February 4 — Introduction
We’ll orient ourselves to the book of Romans—its purpose, themes, and structure—preparing to follow Paul’s careful, Spirit-inspired argument about the gospel and the glory of God.

February 11 — Righteous Revealed (Romans 1:1–17)
Paul introduces the gospel as the power of God for salvation, revealing a righteousness that comes not through effort, but through faith from beginning to end.

February 18 — Rock Bottom (Romans 1:18–3:20)
This passage confronts humanity’s universal guilt before God, leaving no room for self-justification and exposing our deep need for grace.

February 25 — By Faith (Romans 3:21–4:25)
Here we encounter the heart of the gospel: sinners are justified by faith alone, apart from works, through the redeeming work of Christ.

March 4 — A Brand-New Reality (Romans 5:1–21)
Paul contrasts life in Adam with life in Christ, showing how justification brings peace with God and ushers believers into a new realm of grace and hope.

March 11 — Set Free! (Romans 6:1–7:25)
These chapters explore what it means to be freed from sin’s dominion, while honestly addressing the ongoing struggle believers experience as they learn to live out that freedom.

March 18 — Your Best Life Now and Always (Romans 8:1–39)
Romans 8 declares the security, hope, and future glory of those in Christ, anchored in God’s unbreakable love and the Spirit’s sustaining work.

March 25 — All Hearts in God’s Hands (Romans 9:1–33)
Paul wrestles with God’s sovereignty in salvation, affirming that God’s purposes stand firm—even when they are difficult to understand.

April 1 — Mystery Made Known (Romans 10:1–11:36)
This section reveals God’s unfolding plan for both Jews and Gentiles, culminating in awe-filled worship of His wisdom and mercy.

April 8 — Be What You Are (Romans 12:1–15:13)
Paul turns to the practical outworking of the gospel, calling believers to lives of worship, humility, love, and unity shaped by God’s mercy.

April 15 — A Portrait of Faithfulness (Romans 15:14–16:27)
The closing chapters highlight God’s faithfulness through gospel partnerships, reminding us that the work of God is carried forward through ordinary, faithful obedience.

How Will the Study Nights Go?

Beginning Wednesday, February 4, we’ll gather once a week for eleven weeks from 7:00–8:30 PM (Eastern Time) on Zoom. Each meeting will begin with a catch-up of each other's week, brief review of that week’s scripture readings, followed by group discussion through the provided study guide (purchase here on Amazon).

There’s no pressure to speak—but I hope you’ll feel comfortable to share as the weeks go on. Whether you're eager to talk or prefer to quietly soak it all in, you're welcome here.

If you’re able, I encourage you to turn your video on, not out of obligation, but just to help us connect more personally as sisters in Christ! :)

How to Join & What You’ll Need

Our online bible studies are always free to join; however, for this particular study, there is a study guide for you to purchase: Amazon or Crossway.

Bring Your Bible
I recommend a translation that stays close to the original Hebrew and Greek, such as:

  • ESV (English Standard Version)

  • NKJV (New King James Version)

  • NASB (New American Standard Bible)

  • CSB (Christian Standard Bible)

The New Living Translation (NLT), Amplified Bible, and New International Version (NIV) are also great supplemental options if you're looking for more clarity or everyday language.

Optional but Helpful: If you’re able, a study Bible is a wonderful tool to provide helpful context and background. I’d be happy to send recommendations—just reach out!

How We’ll Meet

We’ll meet through Zoom, a free and easy-to-use platform. You can join from your computer, tablet, or phone, though a larger screen is usually best for viewing and participating.

Before the study begins, I’ll send you the Zoom link and any tech help you might need to get set up.

Staying Connected with WhatsApp

To stay connected throughout the week, we’ll use a free messaging app called WhatsApp (compatible with all smartphones). It’s a great way to share prayer requests, reminders, and encouragement without the chaos of a giant group text. Once you register, I’ll send you an invite to join the group chat!

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.— Romans 8:38–39
