Hi Ladies!

I’m so glad you’re here! Over the next several weeks, we’ll be studying the small, but incredibly rich Old Testament book of Habakkuk together.

Habakkuk begins with a man bringing some very honest questions before God. He looks at the brokenness, injustice, and evil around him and asks the Lord, “How long?” and “Why?” And when God answers, His response is not at all what Habakkuk expected.

Throughout these three chapters, we’ll wrestle with some of the same questions we often face in our own lives: What is God doing when circumstances don’t make sense? Why does He sometimes allow suffering or evil to continue? What does it look like to wait for Him? And how do we learn to trust the character of God when we cannot understand His ways?

Habakkuk ultimately moves from questioning God to worshiping Him—not because his circumstances suddenly changed, but because he came to see more clearly who God is. My prayer is that the Lord will do something similar in us as we study His Word together.

HABAKKUK STUDY GUIDE

Our main resource for this spring study will be Habakkuk: Learning to Live by Faith by Lydia Brownback. This 11-week study walks verse by verse through the book of Habakkuk and helps us understand the book within the larger story of Scripture. Together, we’ll explore themes such as God’s sovereignty, justice, judgment, prayer, suffering, idolatry, waiting, deliverance, and what it means for the righteous to live by faith.

This study includes weekly Scripture readings, questions, additional passages to explore, and opportunities to think carefully about both what the text teaches us about God and how those truths shape the way we live.

MEETING RHYTHM

We’ll gather once a week on Google Meet, beginning: Wednesday, September 2 - November 11, 2026, 7:00–8:30 PM Eastern Time

Each meeting will include:

  • A few minutes to share personal updates and connect as sisters

  • A brief overview of the scripture we studied that week

  • A time to walk through the study guide questions together

  • Space for deeper conversation, prayer, and application as we consider what the Lord is teaching us through His Word

There is never an obligation to speak, but I hope you’ll eventually feel comfortable enough to share your heart as you feel led.

While I understand there may be moments when you can’t have your video on, if possible, please show your beautiful face—it helps create warmth and connection in our group.

MY HOPE FOR THIS GROUP
I’m so thankful the Lord has provided another opportunity for us to gather around His Word together.

One of the things I love about Habakkuk is that God is not threatened by our questions. Habakkuk brings his confusion, grief, and questions directly to the Lord—and the Lord meets him there. But God also lovingly lifts Habakkuk’s eyes beyond what he can see and helps him understand his circumstances through the greater reality of who God is and what God is doing.

That is my prayer for us throughout this study.

I pray that we will become women who know our God more deeply—not merely women who know more information about Him. I pray that we learn to trust His character when His providence is difficult to understand, to wait when He has not yet answered, to pray honestly, and ultimately to say with Habakkuk that even when circumstances are painful or uncertain, the Lord Himself is still our joy and our strength.

I hope we can encourage one another, learn from one another, pray for one another, and continually point one another back to Christ.
